In line with 1 Timothy 3, our church is led by a team of Elders (overseers), supported by Deacons. Many members also support in informal roles.

Leadership

The pastor and elders oversee Grace Church Wellington. Between them, they guide the church and its teaching; as we seek to grow our community across Wellington, as well as make what materials we can available online.

Elders

Grace Wellington is currently led by a team of three elders: Don, Ian and Robyn.

Ian Bayne, Pastor

Ian Bayne came from a background of sheep farming in Canterbury, New Zealand. He has been preaching since age 17 on the South Island. In 2002, Ian, his wife Glenys, and family moved to Wellington to plant our church.

Grace Church Wellington is committed to faithfully teaching the Bible. Ian’s style is weekly expository preaching combined with a contemporary flavour to weekly worship, and welcoming hospitality.

As well as regular preaching, Ian and Glenys regularly open their home to the church family and visitors.

Deacons

Our deacons support the elders by managing set-up, communications, maintaining our Facebook page, finance and other church roles.

Serving Members

Notable serving roles held by members include campus ministry and music.
